Here's to Optimism

So my Cook's Illustrated magazine arrived recently and I've been drooling over the Sticky Toffee Pudding recipe (must make this soon) and the Pizza Bianca recipe.

It's been a long while since I've made bread so I'm going for it. Baby is sleeping, dough is resting and I only have about 3 more hours until it's completed. I'm hoping the baby will sleep the whole time and Geoff and I can have a before-bedtime yummy snack of pizza bianca topped with rosemary from our little half-wine barrel o' herbs in the backyard ...

And, really, losing 20 lbs. can wait another day, right?

I am somewhat nervous. Starting a huge cooking project while the baby sleeps might be the riskiest gamble of my entire life, but I'm really really hoping it'll pay off. (I'm also counting on her sleeping because she was awake so much today)

I think I may need to add some rum to my caffeine free Diet Coke ... you know, to give me "strength".

7 minutes left of resting ... then adding more ingredients and kneading 10 minutes .. then rising for 2 hours ... then baking 30 minutes ...
