Geoff took the presents we received from his grandfather and put the whole box into a bin and put said bin into the garage.

I said to him "What are you doing -- putting that stuff in the garage?!?"

You know -- the same garage we recently cleaned out thanks to the garage sale.

And he said "Yeah, we might need this in an emergency."

And while I appreciate that my husband plans for even the remotely possible (we own gas masks, people), I get annoyed at any type of hoarding.

I come from a long line of hoarders. I know one when I see one.

Therefore, I try to get rid of TOO much maybe. Such as, you know, all the size 8 and 10 clothes that were "too big" for me when I was a size 6 a few years ago that MIGHT fit me now.

In any event, all of the items are now safely in our garage (including the food items that -- I'm certain -- will be feeding all KINDS of unsavory creatures, the skeletons of which Geoff will want to send to his former professor ... and oh my God I just realized I haven't told that story yet).

What I'm saying is: The next time Geoff goes out of town, I intend to go through that box and ... reorganize.

In case of emergency, I like to think he won't mind that I took the toddler bath robe out of the box.
