Correction

So a few people have made the Frijoles de Olla recipe and each one has told me there's "too much water".

Of course since I believe I am perfect, I assured them "No, they're supposed to be soupy!"

And my mom insisted hers were too watery. And I told her "No, they're SOUPY beans! You're supposed to eat broth with them!"

And she said "You should add just a little bit of lard to them because THAT would make them ..."

And I said "NO IT DOESN'T NEED THE LARD! I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU DID WRONG BUT THERE'S NOT TOO MUCH WATER!"

And she went on and on and on forever insisting she was right.

And wouldn't shut up about it.

So I thought about recipe, checked it again, and realized that OH MY GOD I AM AN IDIOT!

The water should be 8 cups NOT 12 CUPS! I already modified the original post so this doesn't happen again. That is to say, so my mother won't nag me about this recipe again.

But, uh, I'm sorry about that guys.

So, um, you might want to try making them again .. this time the way they're meant to be enjoyed.

Far, far away from the "I knew I was right" smirk on my mom's face.

Per your previous "judging at the Oscars" post, which dress was your favorite? I vote for Marisa Tomei. The pleats? To die for. And is it just me, or are Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer trying too hard?

I agree - she was GORGEOUS! Also, hated Kate Winslet's hair, also hated Reece Witherspoon's dress (does she weigh 400 lbs now or something?) and I would like to OFFICIALLY invite you to join the Team Aniston I co-chair with my friend Kim. Our mission statement involves eventually seeing to it that Jen marries Luke Wilson. We are convinced they are soulmates.
