We went to Bakersfield over the weekend to go to the funeral of Sheila Howlett, a very good family friend.

About 500 people showed up for the 3 hour ceremony celebrating her life and I'm sure the celebration continued long after the service had ended. I know Geoff and I have continued to talk about her and her love for God and her love for her family.

Her memory will live on for a very long time.

Geoff decided we should take Highway 58 back to Atascadero because it's the beginning of wildflower season and we were hoping to see wildflowers.

It was a beautiful drive. We took our time, we weren't worried about traffic.

The baby slept almost the entire time.

And she woke up as we pulled onto Shell Creek Road, where the bulk of the wildflowers were just starting to bloom.
