Birthday Extravaganza

So I finally have the time to upload a bunch of pictures from our FABULOUS weekend at our friends' beach house (which is 20 miles from our place and about a world away in gloriousness).

In any event, hold onto your hats because this is gonna be the first of at least 4 posts I intend to make today.

The birthday party was absolutely perfect -- great group of nearly 30 people. Great food. PLENTY of booze. Hot tubbing. Laughing. Friends and family. I can't tell you how much fun we had. Phoebe was a perfect angel (once my mom stopped being Ruprecht the monkey boy with the pots and pans in the kitchen while I was trying to get her to take a nap).

I wish we could do it every weekend ... except for the anxiety before the party (is 60 beers, a 1.75l of tequila, 8 bottles of champagne and 1.75l of rum going to be enough!?) and the cleaning afterward, of course.

People, we went through a 3 lb. tub of sour cream in the form of onion dip and ranch dip. That -- to me -- is a good party.

Phoebe got to open her Raggedy Ann doll from GG (Great-grandma) early ...

Jerry took a nap before the day even got started ...

Grandpa Gary, Great Uncle Carrot and Great Aunt Rosalie ... with Lola ...

The amazing Snyder family (their kids were running around somewhere)

The men doing what men do at a barbecue: stand near the meat and fire

Miss Jaimie and Annie, drinking champagne cocktails

Sorry for the blurry pic, but dinner was served (hence the crowd)

The deck ... it was overcast all day and gorgeous sunny on Sunday. Of course.

The living room with the 4 or so people who weren't in the kitchen loading up burgers

Costco cake (note the scary mustachioed princess and the pile of poop frog) ... but it tasted great

Covered in froggies!

The last picture was of my grandma and Lola. I have no documentation of what took place after this. Thank God.
